i have been really busy though !!! tons of news stuff. not one but 2 heavy lids cds due out this year. furst up "clouds are a blanket" on american grizzley records. as soon as i get off my ass and send him the covers i made. they are hand printed digipaks with clouds on them spitting deadly arrows ! yes deadly arrows at the un suspecting ground beow. then yann at dragons eye recordings will be putting out "full moon is a panic" that due out in the fall. but look for a track from it on a great compilation neatly packaged called "paper" its a one year anniversity thingy. ill be playing in seattle with other bands on the lable to celebrate its release. it looks really great yann has a nack for simplicity in design and materials. its a keeper for sure. ok and now for the everything is fine news. well i think i need to ask for help out of my little musical hole ive fallen into. HELP!! i im stuck in here and i cant get out just dig further and further into a dark cave. i have been working on a new eif record for over a year now. and i have re re re re recorded over and over. changed songs and added new ones and then gone back to the begining several times now. slowly a really dark and bleak record is developing. kinda like it has its own mind i have been calling it "cave songs" and it is killing me !!! im really attached to it though. like a evil baby or something. its sounding sparse lowfi dark and repetitive. but im pretty sure im close to the end! i have maybe 2 more songs to record. hopefully i can keep my self from starting compleetly over!! ha. im not sure if tract records will want to even touch such a difficult recording but i think it has a lot of merit. i mean why should music be all fun and party time. this one will be a good record to crawl into a cave with and do heavy pain killers. you need it you know it! no fun now or ever! any way its really a world apart from "ghosts are knocking on walls" its not lush or popy at all. there are no drums. just little echoey knocks and ticks. i got a lot of inspiration form old blues recordings form the 40s where there is just lonely dirty guitars and a lonely dirty sounding voice. i have been thinking of maybe breaking the songs into eps so that its easier to digest. not too much a poision pill so to speak. well ill post more here as it happens.
