spending the weenend in the hospital with Stephen has given me a lot of time to look out windows. lucky for me the hospital has a beatuifull view of roling pine coverd hills. my favorite thing to do has been towatch the sun rise over the hills lighting the dark clouds to a bright orange. i have learned to draw pine tree covered hills pretty well, it was harder than i thought. well all this fixating over hills and landscapes let to a pretty dream. i dremt me and robert and stephen were at home when a earthquake struck. but it was not a ordinary earthquake but a prophetic earthquake, robert explained. sometimes when there is a great change in life of the earth it rumbles to let everyone know- he explained. so we all went outside to notice that mt hood was glowing in the night sky like a pearly white shimmer. as we all looked at it we noticed there was a firey orb at the base. it was really pretty. the rest of the dream was us looking at it in awe.

Heavy Lids with Yann Novak - Long Distance Vol.2
For the second instalment of Long Distance, Yann Novak teams up with guitarest Marc Manning (aka Heavy Lids) for a sequence of long shimmers on guitar and laptop. It’s not easy to resist reference to Fripp and Eno’s startling 70s collaborations, but there is a stillness here that defies easy comparison. The knob twiddling is slow and lugurious, the blend of insturments almost seamless. The drones seem to float in the air, shifting angles so we can observe them more easily. Beautiful stuff.
